House Remodel - Hall Bathroom

My first of a series of entries of our house remodel.  This is the hall bathroom in our 1960's ranch style home.  We live in a lovely quiet older neighborhood.  I love the neighborhood - just wish that we had a nice, big, open floor plan and updated home.  Sometimes I think we should just knock this house down and start building.  But since we are on a very limited budget, we were only able to do a touch-ups/updating in the house.

Before - as you can see the bathroom tiles were 3 different shades of orange.

During  - We hired Red Stick Refinishing to refinish the tiles.  It took a few days to complete the process, but it was well worth it and SOOOO much cheaper than Re-bath or the time it would have taken for us to tear down the tile. We learned in the back bathroom remodel that the bathroom tiles have 2-3 inch cement bed on top of an iron mesh in the walls.  I can't remember the exact process, but I know James (Red Stick Refinishing Owner) used some sort of chemical to etch all of the tiles, then spray painted all of the tiles.

After - walls painted, new vanity, new mirror, new fixtures, new hardware, new light, and painted tiles

Hang on...Let me Google that for you

I'm loving this website my sister sent to me.  A website for all those people that find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than google it for themselves

http://lmgtfy.com/

Here's the link she sent me - since she's coming home for Thanksgiving and we were wondering if there was a 5K Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning.

Be forewarned - this will not help you make friends.

Look at that Face!

Pictures of my niece that make me SMILE!  This is my youngest niece, B.  She's such the baby of the family and such a momma's baby.  She is permanently attached to my sister's hip.

Finally this weekend - progress.  She's decided that she likes me, somewhat.  She actually said "Nannie" and shook her head yes, that she wanted me to hold her.  She also held my hand at the store and let me put her in the car seat.

This is the same child that buries her head into her mother's shoulder when she looks at me.  Cries whenever I try to pick her up.  And a few weeks ago started making this ugly, mad, squinchy face whenever she looks at me.

And here's a fun picture of my other niece, Princess S, and I making silly faces!

Thanksgiving Inspiration Photos - I'm having such a hard time deciding on my Thanksgiving decorations this year.

As Seen on TV

I have woken up between 3 and 4:30 every morning this week.  Not sure what's going on, but at least I didn't wake up until 5 this morning.  Secret confession - I love infomercials! I love As Seen on TV items in the store.  Last year, we had an "As Seen on TV" Christmas Party with the girls from work - a white elephant gift exchange.  It was so much fun!  The gifts were so neat -  snuggies, a hair be-dazzler, heel-tastic and slider press.

Here are some new informercials that I've seen this week.

Body Gospel

Curl Talk by Ouidad - seriously thinking about purchasing this.  I've seen it at Sephora.  Has anyone used this product?  I keep finding one product that I love for my curly hair and then I go to purchase it again and it's discontinued.  There are lots of curly hair products on the market, but I hate when my curls look wet.

The Ahh-Bra - this is craziness - no need to worry about your cup size they say.

I have these Debbie Meyer Green Bags (courtesy of the Christmas Party).  I really like them.  I purchased a HUGE bag of broccoli from Sam's Club and the bags kept the broccoli fresh for 3 weeks at least - we finally ate it all.

So, how do you feel about infomercials?  Turn the channel each time you hear Billy Mays screaming?  Have you ever purchased an As Seen on TV item?
