WIP Wednesday #7

Not too much movement on my quilting projects this past week.  I have been embroidering though.  My birthday is this week and my whole family (in town) is going to the circus.  I made my nieces shirts to wear.  This will be their first circus.  I'm too excited!!

Current Projects:

Kaleidoscope Quilt Along

I've arranged the blocks and pinned them together.  My calculations were way off somehow and I need to sew 2 more blocks to make the quilt 5 blocks X 6 blocks.  Right now it's 5 blocks X 5 blocks. Not sure how I screwed up the calculations.  Will need to cut a few more pieces and sew them together this week to finish the quilt top.

BOM Paris in the Fall Quilt - still working the borders
Down and Across Lap Quilt - Almost ordered the dark fabric for the sides/rows.  Good thing I waited.  Hancock of Paducah's just sent me an email for free shipping.  Will go home tonight and calculate how much fabric I need for the back of the quilt too and order everthing at the same time.

Projects on hold (one's that I've forgotten about)
1. Quilt for my niece - Moda Bake Shop Snuggly Layer Cake Throw

2. Quilt for Aunt/Uncle #1 - Carousel Lap Quilt - Kim Schaeffer's Cozy Modern Quilts
Still need to figure out what fabric I've purchased for this one

Goals for this upcoming week.
1. Kaleidoscope - finish quilt top
2. Paris in the Fall BOM - FINISH the borders!!!
3. Purchase dark fabric and backing for Down and Across.

Projects on my Radar
Happy Hauntings Block of the Month
Postage Stamp Quilt Along
Blockapalooza

Thanks to Lee at Freshly Pieced for hosting this Linky.  I feel more organized when I post my weekly progress.  Finishing these gifts for Christmas may actually happen this year!

  2. Love the embroidery. I have been looking at a lot of talented embroiderers (is that a word?) and thinking it is something I would love to try.
