My Favorite Five

Cottage and Vine is hosting a link party called Five Favorites

The question is - If you are going away for the weekend and can only take five products, in your cosmetic bag, what would they be.

Ok - so I'm on this serious philosophy kick right now. I tend to get hooked on one product line at a time.  I wait months and then finally get up the courage to go to Sephora.  The store overwhelms me and I get a serious case of anxiety if I stay there too long.

I purchased a starter kit from Sephora and my skin has never looked better.  So, I would definitely bring Philosophy's Purity Cleanser and their new Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturize, and the Amazing Grace Perfume.  In the starter kit I used their Hope in a Jar moisturizer, which wasn't bad, and their Hope in a Jar SPF 20 moisturizer - WHICH I HATE!  It's all greasy and oily.  I hear they've reformulated the moisturizer with SPF, but it has scarred me for life so I won't be trying it.   The Miracle Worker moisturize is AMAZING - I love the way it feels on my skin. I have to agree with Rene of Cottage and Vine - Great Lash Mascara is my go to mascara also.  I learned a long time ago that you don't have to put eye shadow on, just mascara to look "done".    And finally, I would bring Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer.  It's lightweight and evens out my skin tone.

  2. Hope in a bucket...Debbie cracks me up. I do need to try that because so many have said they like it. I'm with you on being overwhelmed by Sephora. We have Ulta here which is similar and it overwhelms me.

Thanks for coming to the party!

  3. BTW, if you're seriously into philosphy, the best place to get it is qvc. They have super sized bottles of their philosophy's most popular products at a great price. I got a 32 oz bottle of purity for $38 and it's lasted almost a year. I also love their Amazing Grace fragrance.

  5. I feel the same way when I go to Sephora. I usually leave with nothing.

  6. The prices have gone up a bit since the last time I ordered, but still a bargain compared to Sephora. Here's a link to qvc's page: http://bit.ly/d0qlfx
